The working principle of laser marking machine

The laser marking is with a laser beam to get permanent marks on a variety of different material surfaces.

The effect of marking is to expose the deep matter by the evaporation of the surface material,

or to «mark» the trace by the chemical and physical reactions of the surface material caused by the laser energy,

or to burn some of the material by laser energy, light to achieve the needed patterns and text.

 

As mentioned in previous email, There are 7 kinds of laser machines, respectively Lamp pumped YAG laser marking machine, Semiconductor pumped laser marking machine, Fiber laser marking machine, CO2 laser marking machine, Mopa laser marking machine, UV laser marking machine, Green laser marking machine.

Now let us explore its working principle one by one.

Lamp-pumped YAG laser marking machine is solid-state lasers with the infrared optical 1064nm wavelength. Generally  it uses krypton lamp as a pump source Nd: YAG laser. Nd (neodymium) is a rare earth element. And YAG represents yttrium aluminum garnet, as a laser-generating medium. the pump source sends a specific wavelength of incident light. This light can promote the work of the number of particles inversion. Through the energy level transition, it can release laser. After laser energy amplifies and reshape and focuses, it forms a usable laser beam.

 

Semiconductor pumped YAG laser marking machine generally use the semiconductor laser diode (side or end) pumped Nd: YAG as medium. the media produces a large number of reversal of the particles,  through the Q switch action, it forms giant pulse laser output. There are two types: semiconductor side pump laser marking machine, semiconductor end pump laser marking machine


Fiber laser marking machine is to make use of laser beam marking on a variety of different material surface with a permanent mark. The effect of marking is to expose the deep material through the evaporation of the surface material. Or to «mark» the trace by the physical changes of the surface material caused by the light. Or to burn some parts of the material by light to show the desired pattern , Text, bar code and other graphics.
